to do... help?

1 min read
Okay, well my aim for the moment is to create a greater scope of drawings, particularly horses and other animals, in order to have a sort of 'portfolio' of work. I'm currently working on two smallish a4 horse drawings, and I have two drawings I need to upload. A mahusive a2 drawing that took me ages (though it won't photograph well) and a portrait of my Grandma's dog I did for Christmas, but can't find the scan on my computers.

Sooo if anyone fancies suggesting me some stock photos to draw for shits & giggles, then I'd find it handy. I'd like either some interesting poses or unusual colours. Any breeds, the more the merrier.

Note these are just suggestions, I might not get around to some or even any of them. :S As long as they're clear and reasonably large, as well.

Thanks guys. :)

So yes, one of my pieces - "The Psychedelic" was featured in :linkskyandnatureclub:'s news article 'The under-appreciated of October 2010 - part 1'. news.deviantart.com/article/13… I'm so so thankful for :linkEgil21: for featuring my piece, and the club! It's a great group, full of hundreds of amazing pieces that are ALL under-appreciated. Please go check it out if you have some time.

Also, I counted that 'Decorated Heroes' has 48 faves. 48!!!. Wow! I know to a lot of people that might seem like such a tiny number, but oh my god you have no idea how much that means to me. To even that many people view it let alone choose to fave or comment is such an honour. It gives me a lot of motivation, and I'm just so pleased. :meow:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I'd just like the say a massive thank you to all those who have viewed, faved or commented any of my recent work. I really, truly appreciate every single minute of your time, and I treasure it. Thank you especially to anybody that's watched me, I hope I don't disappoint.

Also, I'd never have recieved any kind of traffic like I have if it hadn't been exposure thanks to various groups I have joined. Thanks so much guys! You really help lesser known artists like me, by giving people to oppurtunity to see our work in these communal galleries. DA - What a great tool for exposure and community building.

So, the groups I'm a member of as of this moment are:

:iconthe-saddle-club: :iconthenaturalbeauty: :iconhighendequiners:
:iconartists-of-equus: :iconwild-artists: :icontraditional-equines: :iconcostumedesigncentral:

These groups have really aided me, and other artists. Brilliant groups!

In other stuff, I've started college now, and it is brilliant. I'm working all the time while I'm there, and it's really practical and a very exploratory, encouraging environment. If any Edinburgh area people are looking into maybe going to college, I highly recommend Telford as an option.

Also, although my work schedule has become much more full, I'm going to be open for commisions. I'll jot down some basic stats just now, and hopefulyl expand on them later. These are subject to change.

· I work with graphite, charcoal and coloured pencil. I'm not offerring anything else currently.
· My best subject is animals, usually horses. I can do others though, as viewable in my gallery.
· Price will vary, depending on media, size, complexity of the request and time taken.
· Realistic is what I do. However, I'm always open for practice, and I'd love to try some fantasty creatures done in a realisitic style.
· Spaces are open, unless there's overwhelming interest (aye right)
· Any amount of inquiries welcome! Although 'no time wasters' I'm more than happy to talk and discuss possibilities with anyone, even if at the end you don't order.
· If you order, and I complete, and you don't like it, you must pay at least half. We can however negotiate re-dos or private terms if needed.
· The lowest price would probably be around £10 - £20 for a small graphite portrait.

I would also consider trades. But it depends.

Notice: Now, I know there may not be a vast amount of examples in my gallery, but please just ask if you're sceptical. If you see a different subject in the medium you want, I can probably do what you what the same way.

Well, I've been a busy bee in the last wee while since my previous post. College on Monday! Crazy. That'll be intense I'm sure, and I'll be cursing all the excitement I had for it. Hehe. I'm pretty sure my surge of doingstuff will be over promptly.

Okay, well in the world of my art and stuff, me and the boyfriend took my little sister to Edinburgh zoo (not because its a nice thing to do, because he 'wanted to see the sunbears') which was productive for photography! I literally got hundreds (and even had to delete some off the cards cos I ran out of space) and replaced the batteries once. The camera guzzles them up, so that's going to be a hefty investment on my part. It's actually my Dad's camera, but I've adopted it momentarily. Although my shaky hands sometimes ruin everything. I'll get the zoo upload uploaded asap, some crackers in there (IMO) and a few maybe worthy of stock usage.

Also, the other weekend I was away for my second cousin's wedding. It was at Coombe Abbey in Coventry, England, and is just about the most beautiful place evaaaa. Proper old mansion, medievel themed, stunning archicture and buildwork. The interiors were to die for. So opulent, full of rich mahogany wood and velvet everywhere. I don't think I got any photos worthy of even using as stock, but look up Coombe Abbey on the net if you're interested. Absolutely lush.

Aside from photos, I'm currently working on a beasting massive A3 equine piece. It's the first time I've done a horse of this size in colour pencil, and it's definately testing. Hopefully, if it's successful it might be availible for sale. I've still got a few aspects of the piece to work out, and it's nowhere near finished.

But tonight me and le boyf are going to see the up-and-coming Scottish comedian, Kevin Bridges. He's hilarious and just my humour, another significant player in the crude Scottish Comedians Club (a la Frankie Boyle, Billy Connelly). It's the first time I've got to see a high profile act in the Fringe, since usually I'm on the lookout for small time comedy, drama or music. But he's just great, and guarenteed to deliver. Au revoir!

Hm, well someone's awful at activity on deviantART. :)

I start at college on the 30th, doing a Foundation Course in Art & Design. :) It's going to be a beast, but I'm looking forward to it. Serves me right for being a slacker last year, and during the dreaded portfolio/interview season. All's well that ends well. I'm actually buzzing though. Although the summer's been excellent, I'm ready to bulldoze this year so that next year will be more of a breeze and less of a disappointing stress.

So, it's exam results time too am I right? Hope everyone did well and congratulations to all those who're moving on to higher education or prospects, etc. Although I didn't have any conditions to meet or anything, I fared well, so it's all good. And although I didn't get it uni this year, reagrdless of how bitterly disappointing that is to say, I'm a young one and it's never the end of the world.

Also, I'm hoping to get into the commercial business of drawing, hence the slight influx in bog standard pencil drawings on white paper, and perhaps garner some interest. Dunno whether anyone on dA would be interested in me because there's dozens of much better artists avaivable that specialise in similar stuff, but it don't matter. (: Always worth a try, and that.

So, I hope everyone is doing excellently! And hopefully I'll make an effort to get more active art wise for my treasured watchers. Peace Out.
